Archidust figured to sit a nice outside stalking trip, and that is exactly what happened. Longshot Fully Loaded and Pyron showed the way early, and Archidust was in the right spot behind them. He pounced in the lane and rolled home by 3-lengths under Javier Castellano. Neverland Rock also stalked the pace ended up a clear 2nd. Pyron easily held 3rd, and Elektronic was along for 4th. The Black Album was next, followed by Fully Loaded, disappointing returnee Uncle Benny (stumbled badly start), and Dunph.
Evan Shipman Stakes Recap (8-7-19) - Winner: Mr. Buff ($3.20)
Mr. Buff loves a mile and an eighth and was just too good for these. He likes to set the pace but could not go with Sea Foam and Gio d’Oro. He tracked those two early, took over after six furlongs, and smartly pulled clear to win by 3-1/2 lengths. Dynamax Prime made a sustained inside run to finish a clear 2nd, and Winston’s Chance was best of the rest in a strung-out field. Sea Foam was well clear of the others in 4th, and Vincento, Gio d’Oro, Twisted Tom, and Evaluator trailed.
Saratoga Dew Stakes Recap (8-8-19) - Winner: Out of Orbit ($11.60)
Out of Orbit got to the front from the inside post as expected. The nine furlong distance was the main concern, but she had a very easy trip and had no intention of stopping. She was in complete control throughout and scored by 2-1/4 lengths under Luis Saez. Held Accountable outmaneuvered Lucky Move for the place, and Cartwheel was miles in front of trailers Turn and Bern and Fetching.
